Thanks to everyone who participated in the Affiliation Vote! Art. 6 (14b) of our constitution demands a voting period of five working days, to which we added two weekend days. Now that the voting period is over, 93 people voted (voter turnout of 47%). The results are:
- Should AMPS join the Confederation of Faculty Associations of McGill (COFAM)?
- Yes: 91
- No: 1
- Abstain: 1
- Should AMPS join the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT)?
- Yes: 81
- No: 6
- Abstain: 6
Based on these results and taking into account Art. 6 (11) of our constitution that asks for “a majority of those members voting” to affiliate with associations of unions, the Executive Board will take steps to affiliate with both organizations.
