AMPS has filed for certification

Exciting news!  On Friday, February 27, AMPS submitted a formal request to the Tribunal administratif du travail (TAT) for certification as a union. The request form has now been published on the TAT website, and can be found here.

According to our calculations, over 2/3 of academics in the Faculty of Science have signed membership cards! We continue to invite signatures from any academics in the Faculty of Science who have not yet signed a membership card. The link to do so is here.

AMPS will represent the interests of all academics in the faculty, and all academics in the faculty will pay union dues. Joining AMPS is purely voluntary; there is no obligation to sign a membership card. However, only those who have signed a membership card are eligible to take part in the union’s decision-making processes, including voting on AMPS leadership, on whether to ratify collective agreements, and on the dues structure. We believe it is crucial to have the participation of all academics in the Faculty of Science in deciding the priorities and the trajectory of the union, so we encourage you all to join.
